Organised by our panel discussion on "Homelessness in Hamburg - A solvable 'problem' was a complete success. In the House of youth organizations discussed Inca Damerau, Uwe Riez, Josef Laupheim and Stephan Karrenbauer engaged on the problem of homelessness, the Hamburg-help system and solution or improvement. The speakers were basically in agreement that there are quite a large number of auxiliary facilities in Hamburg. The area of provision designed to prevent homelessness, however difficult, and is from a regulatory perspective to accomplish little. Also, a larger network of social support among themselves and with the competent authorities have not been optimal, although there are other viable approaches to enhanced communication. One of the biggest problems is that social housing Hamburg moved back into more and more will, and in many cases it simply is not possible to accommodate homeless people in socially assisted housing. So many rehabilitation programs amount to nothing.
The Jusos BUH thank the speakers for a lively and interesting discussion, be the basis for our continued work on homelessness.
